Dear Sir or Madam:

I would like to personally thank you for your kind donation to the First Annual Brooke Wallace Golf Tournament. Despite the chilly autumn weather, the tourney was a great success!

Brooke received her liver transplant shortly before the golf tournament last year! Her aunt, Jessica Wallace, was a match and she generously donated part of her liver to Brooke and gave her a second chance at life! The medical bills for both of their surgeries, two inpatient stays for rejection had depleted her trust fund and put it in an enormous deficit. Brooke’s three week stay in December was roughly $19,000.

Brooke recently celebrated her first birthday and her journey has been one fight for life! Though she has had some complications post transplant, she is growing into a beautiful, independent, loving little girl! She is hitting all her well baby milestones and showing everyone her will to survive! Despite all she has endured, whenever she meets a stranger she greets them with a smile and blows them a kiss. Whether it’s at Georgetown Hospital, Wal-Mart, Kings Dominion, etc. she has a unique way of grasping everyone’s attention wherever she goes! This continues to blow our minds considering all of the invasive procedures she has been through. She renews our faith that unconditional love is a powerful entity.

Our insurance policy renewed on August 1^st. Prior to this policy, we were getting bills for a few thousand dollars at a time. Recently, she was admitted for a lengthy stay at Georgetown in the PICU and transplant unit and this will further put her trust fund in additional deficit. Brooke’s medications are approximately $200, out of pocket (our cost), per month. It has also assisted in the families’ travel expenses back and forth to Georgetown and Johns Hopkins, countless days of lost time from work, and other needed medical testing and supplies post transplant.  We are extremely thankful for Brooke’s trust fund and all who contributed.

Support from you and other community businesses in the area have been a big help for all these expenses that have incurred since April 2008. We would not have been able to make it this far without your help and generosity! We are in the process of organizing another Golf Tournament on September 28^th, at Meadow’s Farms Golf Course which is located in Locust Grove, Virginia. It is our hopes that all proceeds from this tournament will help offset these expenses and future medical costs.

With great anticipation we are looking forward to your continued participation of the Annual Brooke Wallace Golf Classic.  Your company will be acknowledged for their generosity at each hole sponsored, at registration, closing ceremonies, on Brooke’s website, and our hearts! We are in the process of organizing the 2nd annual golf tournament for The Brooke Wallace Trust Fund.

Brooke's Family and Friends would like to invite you to join us for Brooke's second annual golf tournament.  All proceeds will go towards the Brooke Wallace Trust Fund. The golf tournament will be held at Meadows Farms Golf Course in Locust Grove, Virginia on September 28th @ 9:00a.m.
